Common Core: Parents Learn Too

Common Core State Standards help by providing the autonomy to adjust instruction to individual needs and learning levels. Attacks against the standards have obstructed that strength, Riddle says. “Unfortunately adults are also listening to rhetoric on the side from people who are well-meaning but also uninformed. It’s so important I communicate with parents exactly what’s going on.” Last year Bill Bennett wrote that mischaracterizations of the Common Core have obstructed honest debate. “It’s time for integrity and truth.”
