Teachers need state’s support to deliver effective instruction | Opinion

Christy Grubb, kindergarten and Model Classroom teacher in Sevier County, Tennessee, writes about the need for states to support teachers meet the high-bar established by state education standards by developing high-quality, aligned materials, training teachers in education data literacy, and effectively using best practices to improve classroom instruction. Christy contends, “Something must be done to support teachers and close the gap that exists between understanding the standards and effectively implementing them.
